Vacation, all I ever wanted! Vacation, had to get away! If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that I recently went on a romantic trip with David to Mexico. I loved every single second of it, aside from the car ride back from LAX. I was so bummed it was over! Going away with David reminded me just how important it is to get away with your guy. A little trip for just the two of you is one of the best things you can do for your relationship. Here’s why.
Memories
Even though you spend a lot of time with your boo at home, chances are you don’t make a lot of memories together. I mean, I love Bravo TV as much as anybody, but even I know you don’t make lasting memories with your man by watching Real Housewives together. In fact, this probably drives him to hide out in his man cave instead of snuggling up with you. You have to get away and experience new things together to make a different kind of memory. A vacation is a great way to force yourselves off the couch, out of your favorite restaurants (as great as they are) and into something fantastic and memorable.
One-on-one time
With work, friends, family, hobbies, errands and well, life, how much alone time do you really get with your man? Maybe a couple hours a night max, right? A vacation gives you 24/7 one-on-one time. Quality time like this is such a gift for a relationship. You’ll get to know your boo so much better, and you two will become even more of a dynamic duo with this extra time together.
Problem solving
Vacations aren’t all relaxation and tropical drinks. From planning the trip to dealing with lost luggage, bad directions to hotels that look nothing like their websites, traveling has some stressful situations. It’s good to see what kind of problem-solving team you and your dude are together. Hopefully, you two are a powerhouse of problem solving, but if you’re not, a vacation can be a great time to work on those skills together. Or it can be an indication that your next romantic vacation maybe shouldn’t be with this guy. Either way, it’s important for your relationship.
Sex
When you’re on vacation, you should also take a vacation from excuses for skipping sex. You’re not too busy or too stressed or too worried that your kids are going to march through your bedroom door when you’re on vacation. So go for it. Take this time to enjoy your man. Skip that volcano walk or that historic chateau and stay in bed for a full day. That’s what room service was invented for, right?
