First dates can be the kind of magic that gives Criss Angel a run for his money. They can also be the kind of hell that makes taking an ice pick to the funny bone sound pleasant. That’s the thing with first dates, they’re a total crapshoot. You could win big in the love department or end up with, well, crap! Online dating or dating via apps (that’s still online dating…or is there another word for that?) is not easy. You HAVE to do it if you’re single and want to meet someone, though. Did you read that? It’s a must. No questions about that. Relying on in person connections exclusively is like running a mile with your feet tied together. You might get to the end, but man, is there an easier way. I just read that Ellie Goulding set up Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris (everyone’s well, at least MY favorite couple du jour) because they were both tall. THAT was her reason. Mother interference is something most women never outgrow. Fortunately, my mother has always respected all boundaries I set up, which kind of makes her the unicorn of Jewish mothers. Read more
Common questions and comments all single people get are, "well are you seeing anyone special?", "are you dating around?" and our favorite, "Oh… you must have such an exciting dating life.". We could be wrong here, but for most, the first question that comes to mind is, who has time to actively date anymore?
As girls in this exact demographic, trust us, we are aware of how crazy busy our schedules are. The time constraints are UNREAL. However, we want to argue that the excuse of not having time to date is actually BS. There is time to date, if you make time to date. That little italicized part right there is the key to this whole equation.

Some dating rules are meant to be broken. That's just the simple truth! Of course, I have several of my own dating rules that are based on experience in the field. Those, my dears, I think you should follow. But, there are other dating rules that are based on old thinking and tradition. They flat out don't work. So, here are some commons rules you've probably heard from your mom, friends or lady magazines that I'm 100% confident you need to break for a better dating life.
