5 Things Patti Stanger Has Taught Me About Business and Love

There aren’t enough hours in the day for me to tell you all of the amazing things I think and feel about Patti Stanger! I was lucky enough to know her towards the beginning of my career and the launching of her Millionaires Club, and let me tell you, I am not surprised one iota by the immense success she has had and the career she has built for herself. Not everyone has what it takes to be a matchmaker, and not everyone has what it takes to be a successful business owner. Patti has managed to master both. In honor of her great success, and the amazing mentor she has been to me, I thought I would share some of the most important things I have learned from her over the years with you, my readers! How to tell your man he drinks too much

I just went to a wedding of a dear friend this past weekend. It was gorgeous and so full of love. My heart is overflowing for my friend and her husband. They’re such a perfect couple. I wish I could say that I set them up, but my only involvement was telling her she needs to start online dating. And then, after three bad first dates dates, she met him! So, let that be a lesson to all of you online dating doubters. Read more

Long Distance Relationship: Yay or Nay?

I'm getting questions from guys left and right! This is great. I love having universal appeal. I also love this reader, so we will call him Reader I Love. You will see how cute he is. He writes: Hi Dr. Psych Mom, Background I just graduated from college. My girlfriend and I have talked about it and both want to try long distance (I will be in San Francisco, she'll be in Chicago; this will be the case for at least the next year, most likely two years). We have over the past three months developed a deeply open/trustful/communicative relationship (the deepest I've ever been in), and so I think that will be a strength going into the long distance relationship. We are also in the same line of work and have similar career goals, so there will be common ground and the opportunity to share quite a bit on a day to day basis. Read more

NYC Date Night: Refinery Rooftop at The Refinery Hotel

Refinery Rooftop at The Refinery Hotel

With weather this perfect, there’s no excuse to drink inside! Fall is my favorite time for rooftop bars and the last time I was at Refinery it was a perfect night: Our bottle of Prosecco was complimented by the twinkling lights strung above us and a stunning view of the Empire State Building. I’m rarely a fan of Midtown, but Refinery Rooftop is just the vibe I’m looking for when the air gets crisp. If there’s a wait, take your time and order a cocktail from Winnie’s Lobby Bar. You won’t be disappointed.

LA Date Night: Perch

PERCH

This is the perfect spot for either a daytime brunch or a night of dinner and/or drinks. Placed in the heart of Downtown LA, Perch offers a classy and trendy ambience without breaking the bank—not to mention the breathtaking rooftop view of the city!  Just make sure to plan ahead and make reservations so you don’t end up in that long line that spans around the corner.

Boston Date Night: The Beehive

The Beehive

The Beehive is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. Live music compliments the fabulous dinner menu, along with the wonderful service that completes the experience. I was fortunate enough to go this establishment with my friends for my 25th birthday, and use it as a nightcap on a wonderful date with a guy that I am hopeful of writing about again. The drinks are creative and delicious (especially if you have a sweet tooth like me). You’ll remember the night you attend the Beehive whether you enjoy it with girlfriends or a hot date.
