Are you all seeing all of the videos and hashtags for #DearMe? It’s a campaign YouTube started in honor of International Women’s Day, which was March 8th. People are saying what they would tell younger versions of themselves if they could and it’s quite moving. I’m not quite sure why this is just targeted at women and girls, because a lot of what’s being said can apply to anyone, but it’s a great idea. The goal of it is to confront self-doubt, bullying, and pressure. But, these videos and messages aren’t just relevant on International Women’s Day. They’re filled with great life advice that can apply to any day of the year. So, I thought I’d round up some of my favorites. Hopefully, they’ll inspire you, man or woman, to live your best life and know that your future is going to be bright.
#DearMe Ignore every single person who says you’re too smart, too loud, too aggressive or too ambitious. You’re freaking awesome. @smrtgrls

Mostly, my #DearMe would be to not be so scared of everything. Take some chances. Travel more. You’ll be fine, I promise.

#Dearme, stop trying to be normal. No one is normal. If you were normal you’d wish you weren’t. It isn’t a useful goal.

#DearMe, you are more than one bad day, one failed exam, one snarky comment, one day that ended in tears. You will learn to embrace the good
