It’s safe to say that we all want to fall in love. Or, at least all of us on this website, right? I can’t imagine anyone caring about the things I have to say if they’re not into the idea of finding true love. Anyway, I think it’s also safe to say that none of us have enough time in the day. So, how do you find love when you don’t have the time to? Here are my tips.
Plan, plan, plan
I’m type A to the max. (I know. Shocking, right?) And that means I’m a planner. As cheesy as it is, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. That’s true in all of life, but especially in dating. I know we all think of romantic love as something you stumble into when you least expect it, but that’s not the case. You should plan for it! Think about what you want in a partner and write it down. Figure out what your five non-negotiables are. Take a serious look at yourself and ask if you’re ready for true love. If not, what can you do to make yourself ready for it? Envision your life with the perfect person and set your intention to get there. All of this planning doesn’t mean that your soul mate won’t waltz in and sweep you off your feet fairy tale style. It means that you’ll be ready for it when it happens!
Schedule it
I know that when I’m at my busiest, absolutely nothing gets done unless I schedule it. When my time becomes really valuable, even things as simple as working out or cooking need a spot on my iCal or I won’t do them. Do the same thing with dating. Block off a few hours every week to commit to dating. That might mean spending an hour swiping and chatting on a dating app or it could mean going out to a bar solo so you meet people or actually going on a date. But, if you don’t block off the time, it’s not going to happen. So, schedule some time to fall in love and you will!
Don’t waste it
Time is a valuable resource. And like any resource, you shouldn’t waste it. So, cut off relationships, dates and even chats that you know aren’t going to lead to love. If you’re texting with a guy for a while and he doesn’t ask you out, stop! Move on to a man who respects your time enough to plan a date. If you’re on a first date with a woman that doesn’t meet all of your five non-negotiables, end it early. You don’t have to be rude about it, but you do need to get yourself out of there so you don’t waste a ton time. Value your time like the commodity that it is and you’ll be able to spend it a whole lot more wisely.
Hopefully that helps those of you out there who are like me. I’m so busy I honestly feel like I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off sometimes. Hopefully, these tips will help you turn into a chicken who’s running toward love!
