I know it seems like these past few months were invented to make a single girl feel like crap. Couples costumes on Halloween. Thanksgiving dinners without a plus one. Dancing by yourself at holiday parties. Going to the bathroom at the stroke of midnight so you won’t be such a spectacle not kissing someone. And then the big one, Valentine’s Day, the Hallmark holiday seemingly crafted to make singles feel like big old pieces of crap. Well, guess what? Shake off the blues you’ve been feeling the past few months and get aggressive with your online dating because right now is the perfect time to start a relationship. Here’s why.
Spring is for new beginnings
Revolutionary, right? I know, I know! Telling you spring is when new things bloom isn’t exactly the most original news in the world. But, it’s more than just a metaphor. There’s something in the air during springtime that makes new things just a little bit more possible. I really think that’s true! So, take advantage of that by putting the pedal to the metal on your attitude toward dating.
You deserve it
Those last few months were hard. Really hard. Believe me, anyone who’s ever been single knows it. Remember in college, how after you studied really hard for finals, you would rage with all of your friends to celebrate them being over? Well, you just went through the cruddiest, longest round of finals. Go out and treat yourself with some fun dates! Consider it a reward for making it through those cold months without killing any of the people who asked you why you’re still single. That is a true accomplishment!

Here’s another not-so-original line: The time is now. Anything that you want to happen has to start now! Just like how you never actually start diets that you swear you’ll adhere to…starting tomorrow, you’re never going to find your guy if you keep putting it off until tomorrow, or next week, or after this season of The Bachelor is over because it’s really time consuming and you want to be able to dedicate your full attention to dating. Stop making excuses and start doing something about meeting your man now!
