You have greater pull than you think so keep pushing for the changes you feel are right and you’ll wind up getting most (if not everything) you want.

Give the other party time to make amends. You don’t want to be escalating tensions when they’re close to being resolved.
It doesn’t matter who’s right or wrong. What matters is finding a fit. Establish common ground and everything falls into place.
A faction at work is entrenched in its position. Try some one-on-one negotiating. This should shift the consensus.
Don’t feel guilty about holding colleagues accountable. Your complaints are justified. People need to get their act together. Yours is.
How can you be supportive when a friend won’t follow your advice? Maybe you’re not listening to what s/he wants? Start again and you’ll get somewhere.
